Welcome to the Diabetes Education and Nutrition Services (DEANS) program
The Diabetes Education and Nutrition Services (DEANS) program is a collaboration of diabetes specialists committed to educating individuals with diabetes and their families.
Our office is committed to raising the quality of diabetes care, helping you achieve good diabetes control, and allowing you to live a full and healthy life. Our entire staff welcomes you to our practice and looks forward to assisting you with your diabetes needs.
Michele Cordell, R.D., C.D.E. is a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes educator. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, in Dietetics and Food Administration. Michele has successfully lived with diabetes for over 45 years. Michele continues to lead a healthy, active lifestyle and is an avid recumbent cyclist. She has worked with Dr. Brand for over 20 years in the area of diabetes and nutrition. Michele is an experienced and a certified insulin pump educator.
Jody Daily, R.D., C.D.E. is a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes educator. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo in Dietetics and Food Administration. Jody has had extensive dietitian experiences in both home and hospital settings. She served as a clinical dietitian at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital for 11 years prior to joining Dr. Brand. Jody is an experienced and certified insulin pump trainer and sensor trainer.
Rosa Armendariz, LVN, has been with Dr. Brand for over 20 years, providing one-on-one insulin instruction, blood glucose meter training, and exceptional comphrensive nursing care. For over 20 years Rosa’s warmth, nurturing and caring personality, have provided our patients with support, comfort, and personal medical attention. Rosa is a bilingual nurse educator and a shining light in our practice.
